Spaces / Hotel lobby
Hotel lobby
The first ten steps into a lobby decide what guests think of the hotel. Put one piece in them that people stop to photograph.

What a hotel asks of its light
- Mood
- Character the moment the door opens, then a quieter warmth for the lounge.
- Sightlines
- Reception is the one place every guest stops. A floor piece beside the desk is seen at once.
- Practicalities
- Lobby, corridors and rooms. Floor and table pieces plug in; wall pieces need a wall box or a cable route.
Rules of thumb from how we light these pieces. Ask us what we’d do in your room.
The shortlist
Every piece shown at close to the same size, so the details are easy to compare. The real sizes are under each one.

Where to put it
General rules of thumb, not our measurements. Your designer or electrician should confirm heights and wiring for your room.
Beside the desk
Put floor pieces beside the reception desk, not behind it, so guests see them as they arrive.
Clear space
Give a floor piece about its own width in clear space each side.
On the desk
One table piece, at the end of the desk, away from the screen and the card reader.
Wall pieces
Wall pieces are connected by a qualified electrician.
One Object, One Venue
Does your place already have its object?
- The hotel’s old switchboard telephone.
- A brass key rack from the first front desk.
- The bell from reception.
Examples to show the idea, not past projects.
We can turn it into the room’s own light, one of one like everything here.
Working on a hotel?
Tell me about the room. I’ll write back with the pieces that fit, their prices and a time to see them lit at the studio.
